The Avengers: They Don’t Make Super Hero Movies Like This Anymore

Ina Tuason

It isn’t everyday that you come across an action movie that really caught your eye and stood out. There are a number of super hero movies that somehow just didn’t work out as well as anyone expected. Flops such as the Fantastic Four movies gave comic book fans a reason to doubt any cinematic magic happening with their beloved characters. But that can now change because the film adaptation of  The Avengers is putting super hero movies back on the map.

This is how the story went down: The earth is in peril when the vengeful Loki of Asgard decides to make humans his slaves through a destructive alien army called the Chitauri. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s director, Nick Fury summons an unlikely group of extraordinary individuals to team up and protect the earth from destruction, and they are called “The Avengers”. This team is made up of  Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America), Thor (of Asgard), Bruce Banner (The Hulk), Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow). Together, they form an alliance that really proves that they are earth’s mightiest.

What started out as a series of super hero movies, turned into one of the biggest films made this year. The plan to put together all of these super heroes in the same movies worked out very well because the film was simply stunning and such an entertainment to watch. It’s the ultimate popcorn flick: intense action, great story, and entertaining characters. You won’t feel the need to ask for more action because the film will give you your fill of it. And not to mention the awesome special effects that bring every single creature to life. New York has always been the scene of disasters in movies, but The Avengers movie did not make the cliche seem so bad. You will definitely get your money’s worth if you buy a ticket to see this awesome movie.

By the way, there are two after credit scenes that you have to look out for. One of them gives a clue on who the sequel’s villain will be.
